Now Accepting Applications for Rising TIDES 2017 Conference Mentoring Program

CERF is pleased to announce the Rising TIDES 2017 Conference Mentoring Program, which will jointly support 10 underrepresented minority (URM) students and mentors to attend the Biennial CERF Conference in Providence, RI, 5-9 November 2017. The program includes financial support to participate in a Rising TIDES workshop, scientific sessions throughout the week, and other conference activities.

Through joint support of URM students paired with mentors, this program aims to enhance student career development, ensure that students participating in the program will have sustained mentorship following the conference, help develop a network for the CERF community engaged in building diversity and inclusion within their own organizations and across institutions, and involve those who are already mentors of URM students in helping to transform CERF into a broadly inclusive society.

Visit the website for program details, application requirements, and a link to the online application. CERF is committed to broadening participation in coastal and estuarine science and management. Please share this opportunity widely with potential URM student applicants. Contact the CERF Office at [email protected] if you have questions or need any assistance.

Deadline to submit application is Friday, 7 July 2017 (midnight EDT)

The Rising TIDES 2017 Conference Mentoring Program is supported by NSF Award No. 1734775 and contributions from CERF.
